State of the Art, Inc. (SOTA) offers a broad range of resistors that are tailored for optimal high frequency performance. Careful selection of materials, special designs, and proprietary manufacturing methods result in devices with minimal losses and reflections. Thick film resistors are available constructed on alumina, or beryllia. They are available in all standard sizes, and are suitable for applications up to 8GHz. Thin film resistors are available on alumina, quartz,and aluminum nitride. They are suitable for applications up to 40 GHz, and they typically exhibit VSWR’s of 1.15: up to 2 GHz and 1.25:1 up to 8 GHz. For operating frequencies greater than 12 GHz planar (single surface, termination type A) are recommended.

High frequency resistors are available in solderable, epoxy bondable, and wire bondable termination finishes. High power versions (beryllia or aluminum nitride substrates) are available as bare chip, leaded chip, and in flange mount packages. Careful selection of case size, termination type, and mounting method will greatly improve the performance of these devices. A variety of high reliability screening options are available.
